Attention 3M employees and retirees: Make your donation go further March 3-14

When it comes to supporters of Meals on Wheels, it’s hard to match 3M’s dedication. More than 200 volunteers from 3M regularly deliver meals and its employees have a long history of financial support for Meals on Wheels.

3M is once again offering its support for Meals on Wheels through the 3M Foundation’s Hunger Relief Cash Match program. This means that 3M employees and retirees can make a donation to Meals on Wheels March 3-14, and the 3M Foundation will match it dollar-for-dollar.

Meals on Wheels would like to extend our sincerest thanks to the 3M Foundation and 3M employees past and present for their support. Those interested in participating in the 3M Hunger Relief Match can follow these instructions:

  • Access to register a donation is limited to 3M employees and retirees.
  • Donors affiliated with 3M log in at www.3M.com/matchinggifts.
  • The donor sets up a Personal 3M Matching Gift Account if not already done. An email address is entered so you can receive an electronic message confirming their password. If you do not have an email account, you may use [email protected]. This will allow you to participate in the online program.
  • Once logged in, select the “Hunger Relief Match” program.
  • Select Meals on Wheels from the designated organizations. When the required information is filled in, print two copies of the Gift ID Coupon. One coupon is retained for your records.
  • The second coupon is mailed, with the donation, to Meals on Wheels. The donor’s part is now done.
  • If you make a gift directly to Meals on Wheels through the Meals on Wheels website, you still needs to register the gift in 3M’s system and obtain a Gift ID Coupon. The coupon should be mailed, faxed or emailed to you along with a receipt for the online gift.

Important Notes:

  • To be eligible for the match, donations must be registered on-line between March 3 and March 14, 2014.
  • The 3M Foundation is offering up to a $70,000 in matching funds for all participating organizations. Making a donation earlier in the matching period will help ensure your donation is matched before $70,000 is reached.
  • There is a $25 minimum and $2,500 maximum per donor.
  • The 3M donation website will not be available until March 3.
