A special Give to the Max Day challenge

If we meet our Give to the Max Day challenge, we can double the number of meals served from our kitchen

Exciting news: The new Meals on Wheels Kitchen of Opportunities is working to expand the number of people it serves. Now through Give to the Max Day, you can help make that expansion possible!

We’re working to more than double the number of seniors served nutritious meals out of the Kitchen of Opportunities – increasing the total number of meals served per day to 1,100 by Jan. 1. But in order to do that, we need to purchase a new delivery van to get the meals out to the neighborhoods.

That’s where you come in.

Between now and Nov. 16, we’re hoping to raise $50,700 – which is how much a new delivery van costs. And a generous group of donors has agreed to match all donations made toward that goal.

That means all donations made between now and the end of Give to the Max Day on Nov. 16 toward that goal will be matched dollar for dollar!

Any amount you can give toward this goal will help us double the number of people we serve out of our new kitchen dedicated to serving Meals on Wheels recipients in the Twin Cities.

All additional funds raised on Give to the Max Day will be used to support the delivery of nutritious meals to seniors and people with disabilities in need. Whether it’s the food itself, or the friendly visit delivered by the volunteer, you’re supporting a service that so many of our neighbors count on to live independently.

Here’s what Lillian, a meal recipient in St. Paul has to say about her experience getting Meals on Wheels:

“I’ve been getting Meals on Wheels for about three years. That’s probably the best call I ever made. The food is good and everyone is just so wonderful. I just love seeing them ‘cause sometimes they’re the only one I see during the day. I always have to hug them. Oh my God, I’m so blessed with wonderful people.”
