Don’t miss these two great summer events!

Summer’s in full swing, and that means ’tis the season for two great events where you can have a blast while supporting Meals on Wheels. First is the family-friendly Meals on Wheels Northeast Food Truck Rally and then comes the fashion- and food-forward  Meals on Heels in August. Read on to learn more about each of these events!

Northeast Food Truck Rally – July 13

For the 4th year in a row Meals on Wheels will be participating in the Northeast Food Truck Rally! The event is free to attend and will include live music, games, food, and craft beers provided by Able Seedhouse + Brewery.  There will be a $5 cost for wristbands if you are interested in enjoying one of Able’s craft brews and all the proceeds from these will support Meals on Wheels.

Some of the foods you can expect to enjoy include Animales Food Truck, Anchor Fish and Chips, and MN Nice Cream. For a full list of food trucks, music lineup, and other vendors, visit the Facebook event page. 

Meals on Heels – August 15

Meals on Heels is our summer party to support Meals on Wheels and the delivery of more than 1 million meals to seniors in need in the Twin Cities each year. This year’s event returns to the Nicollet Island Pavilion in Minneapolis on Aug. 15. All ticket sales directly support Metro Meals on Wheels.

Attendees enjoy menu tastings from top local restaurants, a hosted bar with beer and wine, and a night full of fun raffles and activities. On top of that all of the evening’s festivities are set to the backdrop of the Mississippi River and the Downtown Minneapolis skyline. Don’t forget to showcase your favorite shoes as emcee Sarah Edwards will choose both a men’s, women’s and group shoes to be entered into the Swank Soles winner at the end of the evening, where the crowd chooses the winner.
