If you’ve been thinking about giving delivering meals a try or are looking for a way to make an impact in your community, now is a great time to start! We have an increased need for volunteers on delivery routes in Minneapolis and getting started couldn’t be easier.

By using our newly launched Volunteer Hub, you can get trained on delivering meals ahead of time and pick a date that works for you to give it a try, no strings attached. If you like delivering (we think you will!), you can choose future delivery shifts in Volunteer Hub on dates that work for you.

Step 1: Learn all you need to know in an online training

Before you get going, you can complete a quick online training that will help you learn everything you need to know about delivering meals. It only takes a few minutes!

Step 2: Sign up for a ride-along

If you haven’t delivered meals before, it’s helpful to ride along with someone who has. Once you’ve completed your training, you can sign up for a ride-along route on the day that works best for you. If you will be delivering with a friend or family member, you can both go along!

Step 3: Deliver!

With help from an experienced driver, you’ll get the hang of delivering meals on your ride-along route. Once you’ve done it, you can sign up for additional shifts. You can do this through Volunteer Hub or by arranging a regular delivery time with your program coordinator.

We hope you’ll consider joining the ranks of thousands of others who get so much joy out of delivering meals to people in need over the lunch hour. You can play a huge role in helping seniors and people disabilities in our community by filling a need for extra drivers in Minneapolis!

If you have any questions about delivering, you can contact Megan Flasch, our volunteer coordinator, at 612-623-3363 or [email protected].
