Something to think about as you’re planning your garden

Have you started planning your garden yet? Did you know that you can donate your fresh produce to meal recipients?

A number of local Meals on Wheels programs offer fresh produce delivery during the growing season to provide a little extra healthy food to meal recipients. Some local programs partner with local food shelves to add something extra to recipients’ lunch, others have access to community or on-site gardens and some programs accept produce from local gardeners like you!

If you’re looking for a fun way to make a difference in the lives of your senior neighbors, here’s where you can drop off fresh produce once your garden bounty comes in:

Bloomington/Eden Prairie Meals on Wheels, 8400 France Avenue South, Bloomington, dropoff hours 8:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday-Friday, 952-835-1665.

Happy growing!
