Thanks to Gifts for Seniors for spreading holiday cheer!

Thanks to Gifts for Seniors, many Meals on Wheels recipients will receive a little something extra along with their meals in the coming days. Gifts for Seniors is a local non-profit that has teamed up with Meals on Wheels to bring holiday gifts to seniors. Similar to Meals on Wheels’ mission, Gifts for Seniors works to ensure that local seniors get to share in the joy of the holiday season.

Gifts for Seniors recognizes that seniors may have difficulty leaving their homes or may not have family living nearby. Because Meals on Wheels volunteers are already out delivering meals to a lot of people in this situation, Gifts for Seniors has partnered with many of our delivery sites to help gifts find good homes.

In the months leading up to the holidays, individuals and workplace groups helped Gifts for Seniors fill their wish list of most requested items. Gifts are collected in gift barrels placed around the Twin Cities and then packaged and sent to seniors in need.

Thanks to our partnership with Gifts for Seniors our senior neighbors not only receive nutritious meals and a friendly visit, they also receive a holiday gift that is sure to put a smile on their face.
