An easy way to make a Meals on Wheels client’s Valentine’s Day
Are you looking for an easy, fun family-friendly volunteer project that has the potential to make a local senior’s day on Valentine’s Day? We’re putting out a call for fun, personal Valentine’s Day cards that can be delivered to our clients along with their meal on Feb. 14.
Making Valentine’s Day cards can be done at home, as a school project or even as a work-related volunteer project. It’s a great chance for children and adults alike to use their creativity bring joy to Meals on Wheels clients. All you have to do is make the cards, and send or deliver them by Tuesday, Feb. 11, to the Metro Meals on Wheels office at 1200 Washington Ave. S., Suite 380, Minneapolis, MN 55415.
For some clients, a Meals on Wheels delivery volunteer is the only person they’ll see all day, so receiving a little something extra goes a long way. If making Valentine’s Day cards sounds like a project for you, here are a few tips:
- Write a joyful message to a Meals on Wheels client. Include a clever, Valentine’s Day-related play on words, or simply a nice, heartfelt greeting.
- Playfully decorate the card in whichever way you see fit. Use bright colors and have fun!
- If you really want to get into it, you could include a small, Valentine’s Day-related trinket, such as a bookmark or ornament.
