How Many Minnesota Seniors are Affected by Hunger?
Core to the Meals on Wheels mission is helping older adults who are at risk of hunger. Unfortunately, multiple factors in recent years have pushed more seniors to need help putting food on the table.

Skyrocketing inflation has played a major role. Grocery prices alone have risen 26% over the last five years, alongside increases in costs for other basic necessities. At the same time, the senior population is growing rapidly, and safety-net programs have not kept pace — in some cases, funding has even been reduced.

While some older adults receive support through SNAP, Medicaid, or the Older Americans Act, many fall through the cracks and struggle quietly.

That’s where you come in. Support from our community helps ensure Minnesota seniors can access the nutritious meals they need to remain healthy, independent, and at home.

To those who donate or volunteer for Meals on Wheels and other hunger-fighting organizations: Thank you for being part of the solution.
