Virtual Walk to End Hunger offers chance to celebrate together

Walk to End Hunger

With many families needing to rethink Thanksgiving plans, the virtual Walk to End Hunger offers a chance to for families and friends to be together virtually for a good cause. Usually held at the Mall of America, the Walk to End Hunger brings together Minnesotans for a fun, family-friendly event focused on fighting hunger in Minnesota. When you register as a fundraiser behalf of Meals on Wheels, your registration fee and anything you raise goes to support Meals on Wheels.

What does the Virtual Walk to End Hunger look like?

Since we can’t be together in person, the Walk to End Hunger is coming home to you! The Virtual Walk to End Hunger Program will begin at 10 a.m. on Thanksgiving morning and you’ll receive a link to watch when you register.

The first half hour can be enjoyed by the whole family and will feature:

  • A chance to learn some delicious recipes from Chef Mauricio Legorreta from Cantina Loredo.
  • Plenty of laughs with host Dez from KS95’s Morning Show, and in-the-field hosts T Mychael Rambo and Shanan Custer.
  • PRIZES! Prize winners will be announced live, and winners are only eligible to win if they’re tuned in!

The second half hour is for the kids. The “Kids Table”, a 30-minute kid-friendly program will entertain your kiddos at home with crafts, music, dancing and fun! Hosted by Rachael Kroog of Kid Power with Rachael and her friends Enzo and Luca, the Kids Table event will feature:

With many of us unable to get together with extended family this year, we recommend watching together from a distance using Zoom or another video conferencing program.

How to participate:

Once you register or donate, you’ll be sent instructions on how to tune into the event.

We hope you can join us for a fun hour of giving back to our neighbors in need this Thanksgiving!
